Your family and friends will be impressed that you were able to build a computer that is faster and more powerful than the name-brand PCs they paid big money for.

How to Build a Computer in 3 Easy Steps:

  1. ORDER THE PARTS

I have selected all the parts for you. I will show you exactly what brands and model numbers to purchase. I constantly research prices for the selected parts. I will show you exactly which companies to buy your parts from to get the best prices. View my online Parts List.

  2. ASSEMBLE THE PARTS

I have compiled an easy to follow guide to assembling the computer. It is surprisingly easy. You do not have to be technically savvy or have any special skills or tools to build a computer. It only takes about an hour to assemble your PC.

  3. INSTALL THE SOFTWARE

I will tell you how to install the driver programs for your hardware, install the Windows operating system and get your new computer up and running.

That doesn't sound too hard does it? I will explain the three steps more thoroughly below, but before we get started I want to assure you that you can do this. I have done the hard part for you. The hard part is understanding what components you need, making sure the ones you choose are compatible with each other, and finding the best price for each part. I've done all that research for you.

I have written this guide in non-technical language so that everyone will understand exactly what they are doing and why. Nobody likes a how-to site written in technical lingo that only experts can understand. Experts don't need a guide! This guide is for normal people that want to learn a rewarding and useful skill — how to build a computer.

How did I select the components?

Very carefully. I have a lot of experience and I have done a lot of research. There are literally thousands of parts to choose from. I have selected the ones that my experience has shown will deliver quality performance for a good price. I prefer to use parts that are one or two steps below the latest and greatest. My experience has shown it is better to use reliable parts that have been proven to be effective and problem-free. I let others take their chances on the groundbreaking gizmos and work out their kinks before I will recommend them. I will sacrifice a little bit of speed to gain error-free dependability. Another thing to consider is that as soon as the newest model is introduced the previous model drops in price significantly. You can get very similar performance for a much better price using this strategy. I update the site every few days to make sure my recommendations are the current best options.

I am not a salesman. I am not an employee of any computer companies. I have no reason to steer you towards any specific brands or suppliers. I just enjoy working with computers and helping others to experience the fun of building their first computer. I provide this service free of charge.
